Yalumba The Signature Cabernet - Shiraz 2006

Since 1962, the finest red wine of the vintage has been hand selected and matured in the marble cellars in Angaston as The Signature. This wine is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz from premium Barossa vineyards and benefits the quality Yalumba tradition, forged over 39 vintage releases. For 22 month maturation in American, French and Hungarian oak hogsheads crafted at the winery´s own cooperage has contributed sweet oak characters that combine with ripe, powerful fruit to create a wine of distinction.
The Signature is a very deep dark red with generous sweet dark chocolate and warm fig, blackcurrant and cedary spices on the nose. The palate is broad shouldered, intense and concentrated with lingering red and black currant notes. Young and tight, this wine will reveal an elegance and silky refinement on the palate given time.Perfect with lamb shanks. Natural cork.
