Vasse Felix 2009 Cabernet - Merlot Margaret River

This Cab-Merlot comes from the northern part of Margaret River, where the optimal ripeness of red varieties is assured. Maturation for 12 month in French oak barriques provides complexity to this generous wine of elegance and structure. The dry tannin structure of Cabernet Sauvignon is mellowed by the soft generous body of Merlot. An amount of 10% Malbec accentuates both varieties providing depth of colour, aroma, flavour and structure.
Distincly varietal, brimming with Cabernet character. Blackcurrant, redcurrant and raspberry fruit combine with notes of dried vine leaf and subdued herbs, whilst musk and sweet florals dance in the background. Ethereal high notes of eucalyptus and cool mint sit aloft some toasty, fragrant French Oak. Screwcap.
