De Bortoli Yarra Valley Estate Grown Pinot Noir 2006

Over the past De Bortoli has been working to reach their goal of making truly memorable wines. The way they tend their vineyards and the meticulous handling of fruit from vine to cask helped to preserve the detail of this unique place. The characters of site, reflection of season and the nuances of variety are what they refer to as wine with detail. Fruit chosen from low cropping mature vines grown on premium sites of the Dixons Creek vineyard in the cool-climate Yarra Valley. This is preserved during winemaking with gentle, low intervention techniques to produce wine with varietal detail and purity. The idea is to create wine with a sense of place.
This is an elegant, full-bodied Pinot with typical aromas and fine integrated oak from 10 month in barriques. Intense ripe plum flavours, texture and softness. Screwcap.
