Willow Bridge Reserve Tempranillo 2009 Solana

WINEMAKERS NOTES:
This wine is made from the Spanish variety, Tempranillo which is the grape of Rioja & Ribera del Douro in Spain. It grows well in the sunny areas in these regions, hence the name Solana is Spanish for "Sun"l. It is the winemakers belief that it is well suited to the Geographe region, with its maritime climate, elevated vineyards and sunny exposures ripe aromas of cassis and raspberry give instant appeal to this wine and are followed with deep flavours of mulberry and strawberry jam. Tannins are naturally firm in this variety and thus this wine will pair well with any savoury meal.
The wine shows a deep purple colour ruby colour, with aromas of raspberries, vanilla bean and allspice. This is followed with a soft, elegant medium bodied palate that exudes flavours of cherry and blood plums. Soft, fine – grained tannins give added length and weight. It’s a wine to enjoy whilst young and fresh but will reward careful cellaring for 3-5 years. Screwcap.
