The Margaret River region in the South West of Western Australia provides ideal conditions for producing varietally distinct wines of the highest quality. A pioneer of the region, Vasse Felix, produces a complex, softly textured Chardonnay through the selection of premium parcels of fruit and wild yeast fermentation in French Oak barriques for nine month. The final blend is distinct, elegant in style and true to Margaret River. The Vasse Felix Chardonnay can be enyoyed in its youth, but will develop richness and texture with short to medium term cellaring.
Nose: Elegant, fragrant notes of Granny Smith apple, white peach and pineapple salad with a fresh squeeze of lemon juice over the top. Some complex doughy yeast, custard éclairs, lemon butter and a hint of vanillin oak punctuate the nose. Lovely tight acid structure drives the length with some cooked lemon skin and lemon barley flavours lingering. Screwcap. Limited.
